The basic concept of the card game is to be dealt cards adding up to twenty one. Every competitor is handed two cards. When a gambler is given a 9 or less and an Ace they’ve been given a soft hand. When the gambler is dealt no Ace cards it is known as a hard hand. Once the cards have been given to every player at the table, which includes the dealer, each player is provided the chance to make 1 of 6 choices:

Requesting another card (Hit): When a black jack player says hit me the croupier will give them another card, if the adding of that card causes the value of the hand to exceed twenty one the blackjack player will have busted and be excluded from the game, if the card pushes the total to 21 the blackjack player will be the winner and if the value of the hand hasn’t yet achieved twenty one they’re still in the game.

Keeping the hand you have been dealt: If a player is satisfied with the hand they’ll stay. As soon as this has happened the croupier will disclose his/her cards and the gambler who has gotten twenty one or the nearest to twenty-one will come away with a win.

Doubling Down: A gambler may request to double down which doubles the wager they have placed. As soon as you have taken this action you can only be given 1 more card. The details of doubling down are usually specified by the table or betting house rules so prior to wagering make sure you are familiar with the casino game rules. If you’re playing at an online betting house this is usually very simple.

Watch for part two.
